Part of a String Quartet

1

Good morning to my gracious followers. All I’ve been working on lately is the aforementioned String Quartet. So here is the first minute of it, or more accurately the first minute of the current draft of it. There’s some things I might change. It may end up being more like a Divertimento for String Quartet ala Schulhoff, don’t know yet.

Happy Easter, by the way. I started this page after quitting all social media for Lent, and I will not be returning because there’s literally no reason to. Substack is just way better. Expect posts to continue coming at least once a weekend for the foreseeable future. I may also post more thinkpieces, don’t know.

Again I would like to remind you, if you think anybody you know might enjoy this page, please refer them. Just put in their email address below and they’ll get an email asking if they want to sign up. At least I think that’s how it works, maybe not. Again, completely free and all that’s required is an email.

Min’s recommended listening for this week:

Koechlin — String Quartet no. 1

Boulanger (Lili) — Faust et Helene (cantata/one-act opera)

Zwilich — Piano Trio

Min’s recommended reading for this week:

Obviously the Gospels

Min’s recommended smoke for this week:

Punch Clasico Toro (perfect cheap reliable spring smoke IMO)

Min’s recommended Feast for the End of Lent:

Whatever you want, that’s the point. I’m actually back to intermittent fasting right now so I don’t think I’ll be having a big Easter meal. But I have to say getting Chinese fish dishes every Friday is going to be a tradition I keep even now that Lent is over. Incredibly good.
